Taipei City, Taiwan- Comtrend headquarters is delighted to achieve the Broadband Forum’s international certification, and now joins an elite group of companies that have completed and passed the stringent BBF.247 testing program.
“In the GPON FTTH industry, the BBF.247 certification is very significant in terms of gaining the confidence of operators to roll out large deployments of G-PON ONU products to meet the ever-increasing consumer demand for broadband,” said Edward Yu, Marketing Director of Comtrend Taiwan.
The Broadband Forum, BBF is a non-profit organization made up of prominent telecom operators and vendors whose aim is to speed up broadband access proliferation and attain greater GPON interoperability. The BBF authorized the Laboratoire des Applications Numériques (LAN Laboratory) as the sole testing authority to administer the approved BBF.247 tests and assess eligibility of products for the Broadband Forum Certification which is open to Forum member companies only.
Based on the groundwork that was put in, Comtrend was able to successfully pass all tests in a timely manner. The BBF.247 certification for GRG-4281us enables it to integrate easier into any optical network and reach interoperability with different OLT types from different manufacturers.
