IRVINE, CA. September 7, 2017 – Comtrend Corporation, a global supplier of advanced networking solutions, today announced the completion of a Wireless enablement project for Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour.
Florida-based systems integrator, Dropkick Digital, utilized Comtrend’s growing line of business-class Wireless access points to cover the property of Old Bahama Bay, including 73 spacious beachfront suites, two restaurant & bar locations, as well as a large portion of the marina’s ocean-based, Yacht Harbour customers.
System engineers planned for maximum coverage with minimal cost by careful selection of both hardware and placement. Final design required only one Wireless controller, two internal and four outdoor, rugged, access points to complete the broadband coverage of the property.

We enlisted the engineering expertise of Comtrend’s assigned Engineer, Walter N. He was a huge help in every aspect. He went far beyond the scope that I was expecting. Once we received our demo units he sent me detailed directions on how to pre-configure them. While I was onsite, he walked me through a couple of issues with interference and channel selection. Also by remote access, we walked through every setting, further ensuring network security together. We maintained access to verify success as the resort visitors signed on. He even sent me reports on the devices more than a week after. He went far beyond what he was asked to do and we greatly appreciated it.”
Successful implementation consisted of one Wireless Controller Unit (WLC-6404), two indoor Access Points (WAP-EN1750W) and four outdoor, hardened units (WAP-EN1750R).
